Introduction

The Culturewatch Course is . . .

  • An enjoyable experience for people who are not Christians.  Do you have friends who would never go to a typical outreach event but might be interested in looking at some film clips and discussing the questions that they raise?

  • A flexible and customisable series. We offer material using film clips to explore these felt needs (however leaders can make adjustments as appropriate):

I want to be happy
I want to be free
I want to be loved
I want to have purpose
I want to be spiritual

  • An accessible first step.  A Culturewatch Course starts with people's interest in films, builds relationships and interest in some deeper questions, and will lead naturally into an Alpha Course or Christianity Explored.

The big challenge we face is recruiting people onto Christianity Explored.  I'm really excited about the potential of the Culturewatch course to help us connect with people in this culture.

Launching soon

We are currently piloting the Culturewatch Course at a few other churches and University Christian Unions.  At the same time we are also seeking to obtain the necessary funding to publish and launch the course.  We then hope that the Culturewatch Course will launch officially in 2011.  However until then you can:

  1. Simply sign up to the 'Culturewatch Course' email for people who might be interested in running a course in the future. If you are not yet a member of Damaris you will be asked to set up a username and password first.

  2. Donate into the Damaris Development Fund to enable us to publish and launch this course.
