Log-in help

If you don't find a solution to your login problem, please email the details of the problem you face to help@damaris.org. We will try to solve it and update this page for everyone else.

The login page tells me 'Sorry your username is not found'
-
Ensure you are typing in your username exactly as it appears in the emails you receive from us.
-
Your username may have been automatically deleted from the system - this happens if the email address you gave at registration was not valid (or is no longer valid). When emails which our system sends out to you "bounce back" to us, then our system deletes that username and password (unless it has a current paid-for subscription).

The login page tells me 'Sorry your password is not correct'
-
Ensure you are typing in your password exactly as it appeared in the original email you received from us when you joined - or, if you have changed it yourself, exactly as it appeared when you typed it in. Remember your password is case-sensitive - and watch out for the number 1 which you might think is the letter 'l'.
-
Click on the link entitled 'Help I have forgotten my password'. This will take you to a screen where you type in your username and the email address we have registered for you (this will appear on emails we have sent you). If you don't know one or other of these please send an email to help@damaris.org telling us your name, address and postcode (and username if you know it) and asking us to send you a new password. We will then reset your password and you will receive an automatic email which will contain your username and new password. Note: It will be sent to the email address we have registered for you.

The login page just refreshes and takes me nowhere.

The day/time on your computer's clock is not set to the current day/time (for technical reasons to do with the cookie this can cause problems). Double-click on the time which is displayed on the bottom right hand corner of your screen & set the day/time correctly.

The login page tells me I am not authorised to access this area
-
You are trying to enter an area that requires a current subscription. Click on the appropriate link and obtain a subscription.
-
You have purchased a subscription that should be 'live' but for some reason it has gone 'dead'. This should never happen, but if it does - send an email to subscriptions@damaris.org giving your username and the date of purchase of your current subscription. We will investigate and rectify the problem (as well as giving you some extra free time on your subscription to compensate)

I am taken to a page which says "Forbidden"
-
You are using a computer which has a software firewall or other device which prevents a proper communication with this site
-
Look at the "Privacy Control" settings on your firewall and see if it is set to "Block sending of web browser information". If so, deselect this.
-
-
Nothing happens when I click on 'Login'
-
You have some pop-up blocker software which is preventing the login window from opening
-
Look at the top of your browser window (just underneath the address bar) - if the window has been blocked then there should be a bar here which has appeared saying "Pop-up has been blocked - click here to access" (or words to that effect). Click on this bar and then follow instructions to allow the window to appear.
