What is a podcast?
Damaris podcasts let you automatically receive the latest episode of your chosen Damaris resource as soon as it's available. You need to "subscribe" to receive a podcast, rather like you might subscribe to a magazine and get it delivered each week (except that Damaris podcasts are free) - and you can stop receiving the files at any time.
How do I receive a podcast?
Here are a few steps to follow:
- First ensure that you have podcast software on your computer. We recommend iTunes which is FREE to download from www.apple.com/itunes/download (Download it first and 'RUN')
- Run the iTunes program and do the following within that program:
- Click on the "Advanced" drop-down menu at the top. Select "subscribe to podcast" from that menu and paste the URL of our podcast in the box. (The details page for each Damaris podcast gives a URL for the podcast - this is the line in bold that begins "http://" and ends ".xml")
- Click 'OK'
- Click on the arrow '>' at the left of the Podcast URL (or title).
- Click on 'GET' (or 'GET ALL') to download the podcast(s) selected.
- Play (after downloading) by doubleclicking on the podcast. Alternatively, you may wish to export the podcast to your iPod or other device.
What if I just want one episode from a podcast?
You don't have to subscribe to a podcast if you just want one item. Each episode has a "Download" link. That will download that episode for you without the need for any podcasting software or subscription.
