GSF2007 (London, England)
The GSF2007 national conference in London took place on Monday 2nd July 2007 under the title 'Dying for a Drink?', focussing on issues surrounding climate change and water. It was a fantastic day attended by hundreds of sixth formers and their teachers from all across the country. All the photos from the day can be viewed here.

As last year, we welcomed 10 students and 2 teachers from each GSF Partner School; providing resources in advance of, during and after the conference; enabling them to meet with their MP; and equipping them to go back to their schools as Peer Educators. Many schools are developing their use of this service in their school curriculums (so their 6th formers then teach PHSE and Citizenship lessons for many of their younger students). Each student received a comprehensive Peer Educator book containing everything they need to teach their peers about issues surrounding water and climate change, including a multi-media DVD with relevant video clips and royalty-free photocopiable handouts and worksheets.

Every GSF Partner School this year has the option to receive some added benefits - completely FREE - enabling entrepreneurial schools to gain huge profile and even make a financial profit for the school! We are giving Partner Schools the full script and PowerPoint that we used at the London conference plus a full film of the whole conference and some extra rights to use the Global Student Forum name and logo. This will enable schools to run their own regional conference for selected sixth formers from schools in their local area - charging them a reasonable amount to attend. Through these regional conferences, thousands more students will be inspired and equipped to become peer educators and communicate effectively about critical areas of Global Citizenship.
