GSF2008 (London, England)

The GSF2008 national conference in London took place on Monday 30th June 2008 under the title 'Everybody Wants a Peace'.

The conference explored these questions:

Why do wars start? What causes wars, particularly in developing countries? Is there such a thing as a just war?

Who is affected by wars? How are young people affected by war, particularly in developing countries? How does war affect people long after the guns have fallen silent?

What can we do to promote peace? What can be done to transform conflict, locally and globally? What roles do reconciliation and forgiveness play?

At the event (by video) Jon Snow launched the Media Partnership Challenge which encourages schools to work in partnership with their local media to encourage their community to explore these questions.

These videos show something of the event - and a full set of photos are available here.
