Reaching 18-30 year olds is the greatest challenge that church leaders face, according to recent research. Viewfinder Services are tailored to enable churches to meet this need. These services are:
- designed to help you run your own church outreach services geared for 18-30 year olds
- shaped around a current film
- fast-paced and multimedia
- provided as a complete package of PowerPoint, videos and script
Damaris Viewfinder services are released quarterly, enabling you to put on regular events based around popular movies.

Samples of a Viewfinder service
|

|
Each
Viewfinder service provides a full script, giving different options
depending on the type of audience. The script gives accurate details of
where to find the relevant movie clips on the DVD.
The sample script is taken from the Viewfinder service based around the blockbuster X-Men: First Class. |

Viewfinder
services are based around a PowerPoint, which draws on themes from a
particular movie. The PowerPoint comes complete with stills from the
movie, quotes, Bible passages and special videos to help people reflect through the themes (but
please note that clips from the movie itself need to be played from your
own copy of the DVD).
The PowerPoint sample is taken from the Viewfinder service based around the blockbuster X-Men: First Class. |
Using movie clips in Viewfinder Services
|

|
Movie clips are an important part
of each Viewfinder Service. Each
service uses a particular movie to draw out key moral
and spiritual issues and then relates these to the Christian gospel.
Each service includes a number of specially made videos to help the audience think through the issues.
In addition, the script for each service includes accurate details of where
to find
the relevant movie clips on the DVD of the movie, so that you can prepare them before the service.
For example:
Play the following clip from the X-Men: First Class DVD:
Meeting Hank
Start time: 00.35.29
End time: 00.36.49
Clip length: 1 minute and 20 seconds
Clip cues: The clip starts when the CIA agent (Oliver Platt) says, 'Hank.' It ends when Hank (Nicholas Hoult) says, 'Really?' | |
