Compassion is a Christian child sponsorship organisation which gives people the chance to make a difference.

Compassion seeks out some of the world’s most vulnerable children and through individual sponsors provides them with the means to break the cycle of poverty and create a viable future.

Children are clearly the greatest victims of poverty. Of the 2.2 billion children in our world today nearly half of them live in desperate conditions. But it is these children who hold the potential to break the cycle of deprivation for future generations. They are the pastors, teachers, doctors, engineers and change makers of tomorrow.

Working exclusively through local churches in developing countries, Compassion ensures that there is financial integrity, long-term commitment and the opportunity for every child to hear and respond to the good news of Jesus Christ.

Compassion has over 50 years experience of working with some of the poorest communities in the world. During that time more than one million children have been assisted by Compassion.

In all that they do, Compassion seeks to be:

  • Christ centred
    Showing the love of Christ to those in greatest need.
  • Child focused
    Aiming to help children develop economically, physically, socially and spiritually. This enables them to become adults who can make an impact on the world around them.
  • Church based
    Partnering with local churches, and facilitating local Christians to teach, train and mentor children.

We think that Compassion is an ideal choice for a primary school charity project and in support of their work we are offering a 20% discount on a year’s subscription to www.assembliesonline.com for any school choosing to support them.
When your school agrees to sponsor a child you will be sent a confirmation letter. To claim your 20% subscription discount, all you need to do is send us a photocopy of the letter together with the name and address of the school and your contact details.  
If you already sponsor a child through Compassion and you have the confirmation letter, you still qualify for the discount! If you already subscribe to Assemblies Online Primary then the discount will come off next year's subscription.
