Compassion is a Christian child sponsorship organisation which gives people the chance to make a difference. Compassion seeks out some of the world’s most vulnerable children and through individual sponsors provides them with the means to break the cycle of poverty and create a viable future. Children are clearly the greatest victims of poverty. Of the 2.2 billion children in our world today nearly half of them live in desperate conditions. But it is these children who hold the potential to break the cycle of deprivation for future generations. They are the pastors, teachers, doctors, engineers and change makers of tomorrow. Working exclusively through local churches in developing countries, Compassion ensures that there is financial integrity, long-term commitment and the opportunity for every child to hear and respond to the good news of Jesus Christ.
