Music for Assemblies

For some schools including singing as part of their collective worship is the most natural thing in the world; for others, the only way to get students to open their mouths during assembly is to make them take out their chewing gum. Some schools love to keep up to date with the latest worship songs, while others prefer the tried and tested traditional hymns. Whatever your situation, it's good to choose songs that reinforce the major theme of your assembly where possible. More importantly, keep coming back to a repertoire of regular songs that your students can come to know and grow in confidence with. Below are some suggestions for books and CDs which you may find helpful as you plan the singing in your assemblies.
