Damaris is a charity registered in the UK, number 1082449 (you can view the charity's details and accounts on the Charity Commission website).

Damaris is constantly developing a wide range of new resources - and then providing them for its members and others. The Damaris Development Fund is crucial to this development and provision of new resources. It has no capital, and relies totally upon donations and grants from Damaris supporters.

This fund provides the 'seed-funds' necessary to develop new projects and resources and to sustain them until they can be wholly supported through the money they generate from sales. (To find out more about how new projects and resources are developed and sustained see our business model)

Here are a few needs that we are seeking to meet through donations to the development fund:

The Culturewatch Course

How do we reach people who would never go to an outreach event, and are not ready for Alpha or Christianity Explored?  We believe the answer may be the Culturewatch Course that we have been developing and piloting with some churches and University Christian Unions.  The response has been very encouraging and we are now seeking to raise £30,000 to fully develop and publish the resources that people need to run this course.  To find out more see www.culturewatchcourse.org

We hope to publish videos exploring popular questions about Christian faith - in two formats... Shorts will be 1 minute duration (ideal for inserts in talks) and Longs will be 5-10 minutes duration (ideal for discussion groups). Preview these at www.toolsfortalks.com/goodquestion.
School Conferences

Building upon our established reputation for school conferences, and our experience in training others to present them (particularly our success with our President For A Day Experience) we plan to reshape Nick Pollard's highly popular conferences "Ethics in an Age of Science" and "That's a Good Argument" into a format that can be presented by people without Nick's particular knowledge and skills set - and then to train people to present it.

Deovox is an entirely free audio devotional relating the Bible to today's culture. However, it does cost us money to produce, so if you value deovox, we invite you to let others know and donate to the Damaris Development Fund. We're committed to keeping Deovox a free resource, but the better supported it is, the better we can make it.

How to support the Damaris Development Fund

  • Send a cheque, made payable to "Damaris" to the office (if you send a cheque please specify that this is for The Damaris Development Fund)
     
  • Donate online using our secure credit card facility (if you donate online you will receive an email acknowledging the donation - please reply to that email telling us that this donation is for The Damaris Development Fund)
  • Transfer money directly into the Damaris Trust Development Account contact us and we will give you the details.
  • To set up a standing order into the Damaris Trust Development Account email donations@damaris.org and we will email you a standing order form to fill in.
