Introducing the game

President for a Day is an educational computer game that enables the players to act as President of a fictional African country - taking it from independence up to the present day.

They receive advice and information from officials but they have to make all the crucial decisions themselves.

This is designed for use (by students aged 12yrs upwards) in:

  • Religious Education
  • Citizenship
  • Geography
  • Economics

The only downside of this game is that it will be difficult to drag students away from it! Times Educational Supplement

 

 

This enables students to:

  • Understand the dilemmas facing leaders of all countries, but particularly those in the so-called Third World
  • Consider issues of social justice and equality, wealth and poverty, and reconciliation and peace
  • Explore the interdependence of the world's population and the importance of global citizenship
  • Explore the Bible's teaching on wealth and poverty, and understand why Christians are motivated to be active global citizens
  • Discover opportunities for influencing global issues through participating in a diverse range of campaigns
