The Iron Lady
tells the compelling story of Margaret Thatcher, a woman who broke
through the barriers of gender and class to be heard in a male-dominated
world.
This
film raises a host of big life issues such as overcoming prejudice;
balancing family and career; making a mark; coping with change;
celebrating achievement and dealing with regret.

The
free resources below will enable church and community groups to run
discussions examining the many life issues featured in the film. You can
either use one of the six individual discussion guides to run a simple discussion, or run a full Film & Focus
event, taking a group to see the film and then providing food and
quizzes as well as discussion of one or more of the issues raised.
In
this Movie Moment Carol Pollard looks at Denis Thatcher, the man who
was a constant support to Margaret. Carol considers the cost of being a
background supporter to a
foreground leader and challenges us all to reflect on how we give and
receive support ourselves.
These free Film & Focus resources
will enable churches and community groups to help people think about
some
of the important life-issue themes in the film. Take a group to see the
film, then lay on a fun and thought-provoking evening of food, quizzes
and chat.
