Damaris Writers
The Damaris team contains many highly gifted writers.
Although most of their time is taken up with their writing for the many websites and publications of Damaris, some of them are available to serve on writing projects for other organisations.
When this happens, the writers work in the same way as they do for all Damaris projects - as part of the whole Damaris team who help one another to research and who edit one another's material.
We have to charge for this service, but keep the price as competitive as possible and always work on a fixed-price basis - we will give you a quote for the job and will stick to it!
We offer two different services - Commissioned Writing and Co-writing

Commissioned Writing
Damaris Writers are happy to take commissions to write according to specification.
The process for this is as follows:

We appoint a Damaris lead writer who corresponds with the commissioner to discuss and agree the brief

The lead writer organises and/or carries out the writing

A draft of the writing is submitted to the commissioner for outline approval, before finalisation

The lead writer organises and/or carries out the finalisation of the writing and submission to the commissioner |

Co-writing
Damaris Writers are happy to co-write material with writers from the commissioning organisation - who visit the Damaris offices for the writing period. This enables the commissioning organisation to benefit from a training and mentoring element in the writing process.
The process for this is as follows:

We appoint a Damaris lead writer who corresponds with the commissioner to discuss and agree the brief, and the number of days of Damaris writers time that will be allocated to the co-writing.

The lead writer organises the activity of the visiting writers and the allocated time of the Damaris writers - in agreed periods which are structured as follows:

Initial plenary. The lead writer convenes a meeting of the visiting writers and the Damaris writers to discuss the brief, brainstorm ideas and allocate responsibilities

The Damaris writers work in one or more of the following ways (allocated by the lead writer):

Mentoring a visiting writer as (s)he writes

Co-writing with a visiting writer

Solo-writing on his/her own

Intermediary plenary. The lead writer convenes a meeting of the visiting writers and some/all of the Damaris writers to review the material and reflect on the process.

Concluding plenary. The lead writer convenes a meeting of the visiting writers and some/all of the Damaris writers to finalise the material and reflect on the process. |
